Page Ranking Myths

Google

Most people want to know the answer to the question, what is your Google page ranking(PR).While Google ranking is important it isn't the only relevant factor in enhancing your SERP. A simple test case can help to prove that PR is not the deciding factor. A simple Google search on a random term such as "real estate investing" will give a listing of SERP Rankings. Interestingly enough they are not listed according to their individual PR.

According to the PR theory the askmen.com site should be at the top followed by yaerd.com, the fact that this isn't the case helps to prove the point that PR isn't the deciding factor. Since this is an example and SERP's are constantly changing we suggest you do your own testing.

10/10 is a better ranking than 1/10.

It is often mistakenly said that a 1/10  ranking on Google is really good, on the contrary, it is next to the bottom. While it is possible to be unranked and subsequently have a ranking of 0, 1 is only a step above that.

Once again don't take our word for it but take a look at some of the highest ranked internet sites. Here are some popular highly ranked site results according to Google.

Google     10/10

Yahoo      9/10

youtube   8/10
